Spooky Season Celebrations at Briar Chapel
Hype for Halloween? Briar Chapel’s fall festivities are no tricks and all treats! Community Lifestyle Director Alyssa Alegre is dishing out the sweet scoop on all the spectacularly spooky Halloween happenings.
Pumpkin Decorating Contest
It’s time to sharpen those artistic skills! Carve, paint or decorate a pumpkin for a chance to win an award! Prizes will be awarded in three categories: Most Creative, Funniest and Scariest. Submissions will be judged in age groups 12 and under and 13 and up. The contest is open to all ages. We are wicked excited to see your boo’tiful designs!
Community Contests and Food Truck Tastings
Put your decorating abilities to the test … on your front porch. Exclusively for Briar Chapel residents, neighbors can compete to create the Spookiest, Most Creative or Most Festive front porch. Sign up to participate here! Winners will receive prizes courtesy of a few local restaurants.
The coffee truck from Three Waters Cafe will set up in the Briar Chapel clubhouse parking lot on Sundays and Wednesdays through October. Contact and menu information can be found at threewaterscafe.com. Visit them Sundays 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and Wednesdays 9 – 11 a.m.
Last but not least, Food Truck Friday is rolling out exciting options throughout the rest of October.

Local Halloween Happenings
Drive over to your nearest Lowe’s Hardware for a free curbside trick or treat experience, visit Krispy Kreme for a Saturday “Sweet-or-Treat” special or pop up at the pumpkin patch for the Museum of Life + Science’s Pumpkin Patch Express event.
Food Truck Flix Drive-In Movies has costume contests and trunk-or-treats scheduled through the end of October, and places like 1870 Farm in Chapel Hill hosts an afternoon of festivities, including trick-or-treating, animals in costume, pumpkin picking and painting, and a hayride (weather permitting)!

One of the best parts of autumn is the plethora of pumpkins everywhere. Luckily, the Triangle is home to several pumpkin farms, perfect for a fun family outing. Keep an eye out for a plump pumpkin or two to take home!
