What have you been up to this summer?

If you are like most people, it's been very busy so far and we're just heading into the thick of the July heat…At Briar Chapel, we're no different - we've been full of events every day of the week keeping our resident's busy, busy, busy! We thought we would take a look at some of the fun that's been going on - for all ages!
Over the last month, resident's have enjoyed everything from an evening "Flick and Float" at the pool, Sunday Sundaes - our own version of an ice cream social, and a good old fashioned 4th of July Celebration - kids and adults kicked off the day with a bike parade complete with decorated bikes and strollers, they enjoyed hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill, and supported our troops through the purchase of mini-ducks for a race in the pool, participated in the greased watermelon relay among other fun pool games. It was a day of fun for the whole family and I am pretty sure we all slept well that night!
Looking ahead, Brittany, our activities director of course has the calendar packed! We'll be heading to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, celebrating National Night Out - with special awareness provided by the Chatham County Sheriff's office (popsicles and glow sticks for the kiddos), and a Back to School Bash with dinner, fun games and crafts for all to enjoy the last night of summer before everyone heads back to school!
Of course, the summer is packed with stuff to do to keep you cool, but you'll find something here year-round to suit your interests. Whether it's a planned event at the club or the spontaneous fun you'll find with neighbors just gathered around one of the many community parks and gathering spaces. At Briar Chapel, you can't help but have a busy social calendar!
Drop us a note and let us know what you've been up to, along with tips for beating the heat!
