2021 year in review
We won awards:
- Briar Chapel was named Best Neighborhood for the 6th year in a row by Chapel Hill Magazine. Several of our Veranda tenants also took home Best of Chapel Hill recognition this year! 501 Pharmacy was awarded as Best Pharmacy, Town Hall Burger & Beer as Best Burger, Dermatology & Laser Center of Chapel Hill as Best Dermatologist, Avance Care South Chapel Hill as Best Family Medicine and Breakaway Café as Best Breakfast.
- David Weekley and Homes by Dickerson both took home awards during Parade of Homes. David Weekley won gold in the $360,000 - $420,000 category with The Oakwood and Homes by Dickerson took home bronze in the $875,000-$975,000 category for Uptown Funk.
We continued to improve our sustainability:
- By third quarter 2021, we reached $7.8 million, or 53 million kilowatt hours (kWh), of electricity saved over the lifetime of the community, with an average annual home energy savings of $623, or 868 kWh.
We welcomed new homes:
- David Weekley Townhomes joined the Briar Chapel community and are on the market with model homes available to tour.
- New Private Custom Homesites from McNeill Burbank and Homes by Dickerson started selling in the final phase of Briar Chapel.
And new businesses:
- Sam’s Xpress Car Wash joined Briar Chapel.
- Food Lion joined The District at Briar Chapel with an expected opening date of spring 2022.
