In the 2011 Parade of Homes for Durham, Orange and Chatham Counties, David Weekley Homes won first in its bracket with its Briar Chapel entry, a bragging right they’re hoping to acquire again in this year’s competition. Encompassing 2,564-square-feet with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, this home is suited for a family or couple with plans for expansion.

Kitchen

Upon entering this home, I immediately noticed how open the main living space is; the kitchen flows seamlessly into the living room – it’s perfect for entertaining or, for someone like me, watching TV as I cook! There’s even a formal dining room with a gorgeous coffered ceiling for formal gatherings. As I continued exploring, I couldn’t help but notice the open sitting area at the top of the stairs, a spot that had been turned into a play area for kids. If play rooms and toys aren’t part of your lifestyle, this would be a great spot to set up a crafting table, library or “man cave.” The icing on the cake was the spacious master bath with a huge walk-in closet. This home is definitely one to see in person, so be sure to check it out in this year’s Parade of Homes!
